Rory White, the Director and founder of Flow Caritas, started recruiting for face-to-face operations in 1998. His first client was NTT (an off shoot of Action Aid).
Jump forward to the present day and Rory has built an exceptional team of recruiters drawn from the face to face industry. The team to date has helped many different clients, both agencies and charities, including:
Key areas we recruit for:
We have recruited for operations throughout the UK from Sussex to Scotland and for all forms of fundraising including:
We are experts at finding our clients the right staff and at all levels:
We can either provide staff on a temporary basis, meaning:
Staff are not employed by you. We manage all the hassle of ongoing recruitment, including advertising and selection of staff and of course the complications of payrolling everyone and dealing with tax issues.
Or pass them across to you as permanent staff or on fixed term contracts.
Numbers of employers recruiting face-to-face and door-to-door fundraisers in the UK has increased from 6 in 2001 to over 23 today!
One of the main issues facing anyone setting up an in-house operation is of course the return on your investment (ROI) and there are plenty of methods being employed to aid this. But without staff this issue is academic and recruitment of staff is becoming a major problem for charity and agency operations.
Since Flow Caritas started working in the market 12 years ago there has been a huge increase in the number of operators from 6 to more than 20 today. With the advent of the internet the number of places to advertise has also grown and with that the cost has increased.
Flow Caritas's recent analysis found that on a typical day in London there were 11 companies advertising to recruit fundraisers on a main job website.
The team at Flow Caritas are constantly analysing and modifying their recruitment methods to make them as effective as possible and to help this have recently re-developed their website. Another major focus for the team at Flow Caritas has been staff retention.
Flow Caritas has developed some excellent processes and tools to aid staff retention to help their clients retain their best staff. Rory White says "we have seen some impressive improvements in staff retention in the last 12 months and this has had a brilliant knock on effect with the fundraisers performance, including more productive hours in the field".
