Are there any career opportunities?
Yes - there are loads of opportunities internally to progress your career. We are always looking to progress good fundraisers into Team Leader and management roles. But some of the bigger operations have opportunities to work in training and coaching roles as well. But on a wider level, we recently did some research on how people have progressed and you can read a bit more on this here, it can actually lead to a much bigger career in the charity sector.
Do I get paid for every hour I work?
Yes of course - we pay every member of staff for every hour that they work.
Do I get commission?
No, never - all our fundraisers are paid an hourly rate and statutory holiday pay, but that is it. If you want to get paid commission you probably need to sell double glazing or vacuum cleaners.
How often am I paid?
Every week straight into your bank account.
Do I get holiday pay?
Yes - we pay you the statutory holiday pay which means that for every hour you work you get an additional 12.07% of your pay on top. In other words if your paid £9 per hour you accumulate an extra £1.08 which can be taken whenever you take holiday..
Is this an easy option?
No, but if your passionate about helping an important cause then its an amazingly rewarding job. You will get masses of rejection and people will be rude to you, but that's just life and an unfortunate part of getting out their and telling people about the charities amazing work.
Do I get training?
Yes all our fundraisers are trained and coached on a continuing basis.
